Suzanne Baird - Filmmaker

My journey started with technology, working in games and VFX, which led me to my first big break at Tippett Studio. My first film? Starship Troopers—where I had the privilege of being mentored by the legendary Phil Tippett. Over the years, I contributed to projects at New Line (The Lord of the Rings), Digital Domain (Red Planet), and Cinesite (Ocean’s Eleven, Ali) before returning to the Bay Area to join Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in commercials. Fueled by my love of storytelling, I transitioned to live-action commercials and performance marketing while honing my writing craft. At Lieberman Productions, I served as the Director of Creative Operations, balancing creative leadership with
impactful storytelling. Eventually, I took the leap into freelancing to focus on writing and directing full-time.

I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with industry leaders like Google, Salesforce, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and KQED, transforming complex ideas into accessible, engaging narratives. My passion for connecting with audiences led me to write and direct Gin Rummy, an award-winning short film that’s been celebrated at festivals in LA, Seattle, New York, and Italy.

Whether it’s crafting a compelling campaign or directing a thought-provoking film, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that resonate, inspire, and spark conversation.
